Alphatauri is speeding up on fashion-meets-function quality. For fall/winter 2022 it will launch two new pieces part of its Heatable Capsule Collection (HCC), a new product line that had debuted in 2020 with a bomber jacket and a vest.
The new collection disclosed during the January 2022 edition of Pitti Uomo will include two more heatable styles: a trench coat for women and men and a unisex commuter jacket. They have heated zones that can be activated and controlled at the push of a button or via a smartphone app. These zones are located in the two front pockets and in the right and in the left sections of the back. Compared to the previous HCC collection, heating functions can be better regulated and achieve specific target temperatures, which can then be automatically maintained and saved, and also be activated alternatively.

The trench coat is made up of a water-repellent functional material, which is produced with an insulating cork shell coating on the inside. It ensures that only a small amount of the heat stored in its Lavalan wool padding escapes to the outside.
The dark gray Commuter Jacket is unisex and is completed with a stowable hood, a foldable bike skirt, a jersey back pocket and elongated, ergonomically shaped cuffs. The Commuter Jacket is also fully reflective and guarantees better visibility in the dark.

Alphatauri developed the HCC in cooperation with Deutsche Telekom and Schoeller Textil AG. Within this project Alphatauri is responsible for product development and collection design, Telekom for the technology, including the app, and Schoeller Textil AG rounds off the collaboration with the E-Soft-Shell heating technology and all fabrics used in the collection. The E-Soft-Shell material is an innovative heating technology that distributes heat as the heated lining contains a network of conductive yarns.
The jackets are supplied with electricity via a special power bank which is connected and stowed in a separate pocket on the back.
Retail prices range from €949 for the trench coat and €799 for the commuter jacket, while the bomber jacket is sold at €699.90 and the vest at €499.90.
Among other technologies disclosed during the last edition of Pitti Uomo, the brand also presented launched Taurobran, an innovative three-layer membrane that is waterproof and breathable and, thanks to a new e-spinning technology, can be used for waterproof and comfortable jackets and parkas.

Also, part of the collection is Alphatauri 3D-Knit, a special knitwear material produced with a 3D knitting machine from Japanese company Shima Seiki, a strategic partner for Alphatauri. The use of this particular technique offers advantages such as more sustainable production and the possibility to produce seamless 3D on-demand knit designs.
