Dondup, Made in Italy premium denim brand that belongs to the Fine Sun holding company, has just closed its 2022 fiscal year balance recording a turnover of €64 million, registering a double-digit +11% growth on the previous year and achieving a 28% Ebitda of €18 million.

"After an exceptional 2021, the biggest challenge for the year just ended was to maintain profitability and margins at these levels," said Matteo Anchisi, CEO, Dondup.

"We overcame this challenge without having been severely impacted by the global economic and political conditions. Thanks to careful planning that began in the early days, based on a path of supply chain rationalization, near-shoring and consolidation of partnerships with other excellencies of Made In Italy manufacturing, we were able to guarantee quality and service and achieve these results," said Matteo Anchisi, CEO, Dondup.

"Our internationalization process has already led us to grow in France and the Netherlands and today allows us to look with interest at other markets," commented Mauro Grange, CEO, Fine Sun.

"We have anticipated by almost two years the achievement of the goals we had set in the business plan agreed with Anchisi during the acquisition phase. These excellent results are now the solid base from which we can build on to materialize other ambitious projects," the manager added.

In 2002 Dondup presented its first social responsibility report and SDGs plan and is preparing to release the second in the coming months.

Part of the sustainability journey undertaken by the company is also the commitment to follow a more ethical business model, according to the goal of soon presenting a "Dondup Digital Passport," a kind of identity card containing all the information about each product.

"We produce 100% of our collection in Italy, 43% of which are Made in Marche," Anchisi continued. "We are, in addition, developing two projects that will enhance the denim valley district, focusing not only on the district's know-how and craftsmanship excellence but also on technological innovations, especially in the area of sustainability," he added.

Dondup belongs to Fine Sun srl, a holding company controlled by the Made in Italy fund that aims to create a made-in-Italy luxury hub that can support individual realities of excellence in their path of digitalization and internationalization.

In addition to Dondup it also owns majority stakes in Rosantica, a brand specializing in the jewel bags and precious accessories; 120% Lino, an Italian company in linen and natural fiber apparel; and Autry and Ghoud, both brands of high-end men's and women's sneakers.
