Pangaia, a materials science company focused on creating materials that aims to reduce tehir impact on the environment, has launched Activewear 3.0, a new and improved range of plant-based activewear.

The new Pangaia’s activewear line is what the brand considers its most bio-based offering to date, as it is made using 99.99% plant-based EVO Nylon and 30% plant-based Creora elastane. This new stretch fiber is the first commercially available of its kind, and it was developed by Hyosung, a global specialized fiber manufacturer that produces a very wide selection of Creora stretch fiber offerings, Mipan nylon and specialty polyester, along with a selection of sustainable fiber solutions.

Hyosung’s Creora elastane is the first to market with a 30% bio-based content that is sourced from industrial corn, harvested in the US, and Pangaia is the first brand globally to introduce this new stretch fiber in an activewear range.

The yarn is SGS certified, guaranteeing that it is made with plant-based materials and produced in an eco-friendly environment. According to a recent third-party LCA, the manufacture of Creora bio-based elastane reduces its carbon footprint by 23% as compared to the production of regular elastane.

The new selection of Pangaia’s activewear includes four styles–a bra, a cropped top, shorts, and leggings–in three colorways–black, foliage green, and cerulean blue. All the pieces are seamless and designed to feel like a second skin added with gentle compression. Additionally, each garment is treated with the brand’s “Pprmint” finish, so garments stay fresh for longer.

Pangaia’s Activewear 3.0 is sold online at Pangaia.com.
