"We couldn't be more excited to open our first physical store in the US. After launching our U.S. online store three years ago and distributing Closed to an exclusive selection of multi-brand partners, we see this as the next step to further validate what we have built with the support of our partners over the past decade," said Til Nadler, managing partner of Closed.
LA, he said, is where the brand began its US operations. So it was a natural evolution of the plan to open its first retail presence there, he said. In addition, he added, LA is an important location for the fashion industry, including Platform in Culver City, where the store is opening, a shopping center on Los Angeles' Westside that consists of about 4,600 sq.meters of retail and restaurant space, and about 7,400 sq.meters of creative and office space.

The store design of the new location aims to find a balance between the sunny Californian environment and the company's European roots. Fresh shades of yellow set the tone in the approximately 90 sq.meter light-filled space that inspire a vacation feeling. This shop is characterised by round shapes, unique furniture and decorative elements, along with striped textiles reminiscent of beach loungers.
Large-format photographs on the walls, taken at famous Italian vacation spots, are intended to spread a dolce vita mood.

For the store's shopfitting and design, the Hamburg-based company has brought on board A + O Architekten from Innsbruck and Studio Lansky, from Hamburg.
The selection on offer includes womenswear, menswear and hanmade in Italy denim pieces, together with ready-to-wear clothing, accessories and lifestyle products. In addition, the store is planning to host special events for customizing the products that are offered in the store.
Closed currently operates its own stores in Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland also and is represented by various retail partners in the USA and worldwide.
