Contemporary denim label Amendi has launched a revised version of its signature fabrication facts tag. Akin to the nutrition facts tag on groceries, the fabrication facts tag, which is attached to every garment Amendi makes, includes information such as fabric and chemical content, certifications, cost breakdown, and how many people were involved in making the piece.

The new tag now includes supplier facts and lists information about the specific supplier of that garment, including employee work hours and wages. “The goal is simple. We want to be as honest as possible so we can become as good and clean as possible as a business. We believe transparency, just plain honesty, is the road to that revolution,” said Andreas Åhrman, CEO, Amendi.

In addition, the Swedish-American start-up will launch its first store inside of department store NK-Gothenburg. The store, which is slated to open 15 October will be around 520 square feet and will feature locally sourced vintage material and clean industrial aesthetics. The space is being designed by chief designer and co-founder of Amendi, Julia Åhrman, and will stock Amendi’s core denim range as well as the new fall season collection called Nothing Divine Dies.

The latter features a trove of 70’s inspired blouses and shirts made of Tencel, jackets made of deadstock, and an assortment of tops and bottoms made from Amendi’s core GOTS certified organic cotton denim.

“We’re excited to be the first fully transparent and traceable brand inside such a historic retail environment,” comments Andreas Åhrman.
