Sustainable US footwear label Allbirds has teamed up with New York streetwear icon Jeff Staple to introduce two new sneaker models.

The Staple x Allbirds "Hyperstrike" and "Inline" sneakers pay homage to the Allbirds "Tree Dasher" model with a new design twist. The upper of the shoe has been virtually turned inside out by Staple. What emerges is not only the construction of the shoe, but also a closer look at its materials such as ZQ certified merino wool, Sweatfoam (EVA foam made from sugar cane) and sustainable eucalyptus fiber.

During this design experiment, Staple, founder of the eponymous streetwear brand, also became aware of the carbon footprint figure produced during manufacturing. This is located on the inner sole of each Allbirds shoe. Instead of leaving this number on the inside, Staple placed it prominently on the top, as a "plea for more sharing about the environmental impact of our consumption and the things we wear and buy."
