The tumbling Sixty Group will stop the wholesale distribution for the brands Miss Sixty, Energie, Killah, Murphy & Nye and Refrigiwear in Germany by end of 2012. Former CEO Jörg Korfhage will remain responsible as General Director Sales for the wholesale and retail segment. Sixty once supplied approximately 190 retailers in Germany. The 12 own-brand stores will remain. Glauco Landi has been named new CEO for Sixty Germany. Landi is based in Italy and will lead the business from there.
Sixty’s future in Germany is presently unclear. The new owners, Pan Asian group, Crescent HydePark want to support Sixty through both re-launch and international development. The group is focusing on wholesale distribution, and is seeking to extend the brand through its network of 1,500 stores, including the existing 65 stores in Europe. That said, the future of the wholesale operation remains unclear, with Jörg Korfhage still in negotiations with Crescent Hyde Park. Whether Korfhage becomes distributer for Germany or other countries in Europe is uncertain.
