For the third time the French department store chain Galeries Lafayette is organizing an event week at its flagship store on Boulevard Haussmann to mark the start of spring: after Africa Now in 2017 and Music Machines in 2018, the flagship store in the center of Paris will follow the motto Funorama. As the name suggests, this time it's about the "celebration of everything that makes life that little bit more beautiful, amusing and exiting.” The previous event weeks were devoted to art (Africa Now) and music (Music Machines).

Funorama starts on April 8 and will be reviving the historic building with many event areas until May 26. Probably the most spectacular installation is the Funzone, a colorful reclining area at an airy height under the famous 19th century dome. It is located directly below the Glasswalk–installed at the end of 2018–a nine-meter long footbridge at a height of 16 meters, which through its transparent floor offers thrilling views of the sales areas on the ground floor. The Funzone is also spread over the building’s five floors and includes interactive game corners together with Playstation, table football by René Pierre, Polaroid events, vintage games, fashion defilés and special activities for children in the games department with Lego among others. On the ground floor and in the exhibition area called La Galerie des Galeries on the first floor there is an installation by the Swiss artists Sabina Lang and Daniel Baumann, who will dress existing building structures in a completely new way.

For the second time, the global movement for ethical fashion Go for Good will also be represented on a special sales area: Le Good Spot will feature a selection of ethical, socially correct and locally produced lifestyle products, as well as a capsule collection from the French accessories label L/Uniform. Galeries Lafayette has also launched its own fashion items for the event: Funorama T-shirts and cashmere pullovers in cooperation with From Future in the colorful palette of the event.

In addition to tourists, these events are particularly well received by Parisians, who are always on the lookout for exclusive offers.
