In June sneaker and streetwear retailer Solebox had already announced its acquisition of Frankfurt-based men’s premium fashion store Uebervart and its plan to develop a new fashion concept under the Solebox umbrella with the goal to develop Uebervart into “one of the leading contemporary menswear players in Germany and Europe,” Solebox states.
Now time has finally come and Solebox has integrated Uebervart within its cosmos; together they launched a new retail concept called MBCY [speak: embassy], while Daniel Steindorf, who founded Uebervart in 2007, remains on board as a fashion buyer for the new concept.

The physical brick-and-mortar MBCY store is located at the former Uebervart location at Kleiner Hirschgraben in Frankfurt/Main.
The expansion within Europe under the new concept MBCY is planned from 2021 onwards, but no further details have been unveiled yet.
Solebox was founded in Berlin in 2002 and is now part of international sports- and streetwear retailer Snipes, based in Cologne. Solebox currently runs six stores in several European cities: Amsterdam, Brussels, Vienna, Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt.
