7 May 2013, Renzo Rosso, entrepreneur and president OTB Group signed the agreement for restoring Ponte di Rialto in Venice, one of the biggest, most renowned and magnificent bridges of the city.
The assignment of the restoration project had already been announced on 14 December 2012, though today Renzo Rosso, at the presence of the City's Mayor, its authorities and the involved personalities signed the agreement officially.
"We are thankful to Renzo Rosso who has looked at this project with real interest and enthusiasm," commented Giorgio Orsoni, Mayor of Venice. "I thank him in the name of all the Venetian citizens but also in the name of the whole world since maintaining this city alive is a commitment that goes beyond the city itself."
“I always say that a man alone cannot do anything, it's a team who can build projects together. And according to my idea when you generate profit it is right also giving part of it to culture and society, especially in moments like these," commented Rosso. "It is not the private who wants to take the place of the public, but the private trying to collaborate and establish a dialogue in order to create a better world."
OTB is the holding headed by Renzo Rosso and that controls fashion brands and companies such as Diesel, Maison Martin Margiela, Marni, Viktor&Rolf and Staff International. In 2012 it registered revenues of approximately €1,500 million and employs 6,500 people worldwide.
