The Berlin trade shows are about to kick off: Starting next Tuesday, July 8, Berlin will once again host almost the whole fashion industry – and the ones struggling to establish themselves in this competitive business. Here’s the news you need to know about the upcoming spring/summer 2015 editions of Bread & Butter (BBB), Premium, Panorama, Bright, Seek, Capsule, Show & Order, Ethical Fashion Show and Greenshowroom.
Bread & Butter
After last winter’s edition, BBB organizers announced that the show will start hosting two “consumer days”, opening the event to the general public. This decision generated a hot discussion within the industry (to read more about it, click here). However, by the end of February, Karl-Heinz Müller, director of BBB and main booster of the idea, drew back and made public that the show remains an industry-only event. For this summer edition, under the motto of the Brazilian Carnival, BBB welcomes about 150 newcomers within its six different areas: Urban Fashion, Urban Base, Urban Superior and L.O.C.K. In addition, labels such as K-Swiss, Smiley, Ben Sherman or Carhartt Wip return as exhibitors.
Another premiere at BBB is the European debut of the Inazuma Festival (L.O.C.K., Booth H7.6.2), a Japanese shopping event were visitors will be able to buy high quality denims made in Japan and other hand-made products. Moreover, the trade show is hosting Seoul’s 10 Soul (L.O.C.K., Booth H7.4) for the first time in Germany, an initiative launched in 2010 to support upcoming fashion designers based in Seoul. BBB is also offering an Argentinian showroom with a selection of shoes, jewelry, beachwear and clothing brands (Booths H5.2.1 - H5.2.10 / Urban Superior Hall 1).
Finally, the trade show will showcase pictures of Olaf Heine’s work “Brazil” (2014) at the BBB Gates. Heine is a portrait and fashion photographer renowned for capturing the land of Carnival and Copacabana in black-and-white.

The show is divided into 6 different halls (The best of Contemporary Fashion; Accessories Galore; Urban Lifestyle; Gentlemen’s Club; The Essential; Elegance meets Style), an outside area for outstanding brand projects, the Dissonance Area where fashion meets art, The Essence (handcraft and luxury design) and individual brand showrooms.
Additionally and for the second time, Premium will host the Collect showroom for contemporary fashion in its Dissonance Area.
