As was just announced Tom Tailor Group has a new CEO: Dr. Gernot Lenz will take over the position effectively 01 November and will manage the Tom Tailor labels as well as Bonita.
Lenz, former CEO at S.Oliver Group respectively COO at Tommy Hilfiger Global and PVH Europe, follows in the footsteps of Dr. Heiko Schäfer.
"Our industry is in a process of big changes that offer many opportunities. The Tom Tailor brand has developed well in the last years. Still, we have to make sure that its appeal and performance at the stationary and digital points of sale further increase," Lenz states, not commenting on the problems that the Group recently faces, last but not least because of its struggling daughter company Bonita (a women’s plus size brand).
"With Dr. Gernot Lenz we gained an experienced industry expert [...] for Tom Tailor. With his strong international and digital know how we will set impulses for our company," says Dr. Jenny Shao, chairman supervisory board, Tom Tailor Holding SE.
The previous CEO Dr. Heiko Schäfer will resign from the managing board position by his own intent by 31 October. He served as member of the managing board for almost four years.
According to Tom Tailor the growth of the brand was mainly driven in the fields of e-commerce, on international markets, especially Eastern Europe, and the launch of new womenswear lines–measures to overcome the stagnating German market.
Currently, Tom Tailor Group counts a total of 454 mono brand stores for its Tom Tailor brand, as well as 185 franchise branches, 2,541 shop-in-shops and 7,393 multi label points of sale in more than 32 countries and operates an own web shop. In 2018 Tom Tailor‘s turnover (excluding Bonita) grew by 3% to €617 million.
