Andrea Rosso has been officially named as creative director responsible for all of Diesel’s licenses. From s/s 2015 he will no longer take care of the 55DSL brand since it will be no longer produced.

Rosso is now responsible for all different products and projects that carry the name of the well-known Italian jeanswear and lifestyle brand. This wide offer of licensing agreements includes fragrances, watches, home decor and furniture, design objects as well as special collaborations, such as a recent collaboration with Ducati.

Andrea Rosso has taken care of different licensed products since 2012, but henceforth will be even more involved with this task, especially now that he and Nicola Formichetti, artistic director of Diesel, will constantly exchange opinions and ideas on new projects and challenges tied to the Diesel brand.

Rosso was the creative mind behind 55DSL, the rebellious, street-minded and most experimental brand of the OTB stable of brands. In 2014 55DSL will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a series of new initiatives, and special capsule collections– including special limited edition capsule collections in collaboration with Birkenstock, Los Angeles based art publisher Arkitip and San Francisco based artist Aaron De La Cruz, which will be sold through selected stores in s/s 2014. After this special year of celebrations all the heritage, know-how, research and creative inputs achieved by 55DSLwill be poured into the Diesel brand.
