The upcoming edition of Munich Fabric Start taking place from 2 to 4 February 2016 in Munich, in M.O.C Zentrum, will disclose some significant novelties.
While celebrating its 40th edition marking its 20th anniversary, for this edition the show will host 950 internationally suppliers from 37 countries and more than 1,500 fabric and accessories collections for women’s and men’s wear, denim and sportswear. Out of the total the show’s main hall will host 600 fabrics manufacturers including, for the first time, high-end Italian producers such as Cotonificio Ronghi, Dinamo, and Ithitex or Tianhai Lace from the US. Almost 200 suppliers of findings and accessories will exhibit their innovations among whose there will be some debuting companies such as Green Beef, Dorlet and Voijd Studios.
The BlueZone, the denim-focused pavilion hosted inside the Zenith Hall, will disclose its new setting, a brighter, more transparent and light-flooded area offering a cross-over between purism and vintage projecting modernity. Seventy international denim, streetwear and sportswear manufacturers and finishers will be exhibiting their latest products and technical innovations for s/s 2017. New exhibitors will include Pacific Jeans from Bangladesh, as well as Crossing and Med Sourcing from Morocco.
The show is working at a new section that will complete the offer of Blue Zone - Key House. This new creativity area concept located in Kesselhaus, a space located between MOC and Zenith Hall, will be disclosed in the next months. “Developing this additional forum on an area of 2,500 sq. meters will allow us to respond to the current requirements of a global market more offensively and intensely. This is how we want to create a space for concepts and new areas of relevance for the future,” commented Sebastian Klinder, managing director of Munich Fabric Start.
The main inspiration trend characterizing s/s 2017 collections as presented by the show will be “Ageless”. This theme focuses on an increasingly important aspect guiding consumers in their purchases. It reflects a widespread desire for eternal youth, for a philosophy of life devoid of aging, time and in some cases also gender. Ageless is also expressing the interest in redefining target groups, searching for unusual styles, parting with conventions and being open for experimentation.
Munich Fabric Start and Blue Zone will also present a vast and articulated program of trend forecasts, lectures and seminars held throughout the show
