On September 29, Italian manufacturer Ittierre (ittierre.it) will open its new HITGallery global retail concept in Hong Kong, which will be followed by another new boutique in Milan by the end of the year. The 100-sqm Hong Kong store is based in the city’s upscale Times Square shopping mall and will be the first in a chain of Ittierre stores to present all of the lines the company produces and markets. These include Pierre Balmain, Tommy Hilfiger Collection, Karl Lagerfeld Paris, C’n’C Costume National, Aquascutum, Galliano, GF Ferré and Fiorucci.
Italian design agency Studio Novembre was commissioned to create the new HITGallery stores, while also restyling the most important of 50 current locations worldwide (with 30 in Asia alone). Fabio Novembre, owner of Studio Novembre, explained: "The HITGallery stores we plan to open around the globe will capture the essence and spirit of Italy in wonderful new ways. Taking inspiration from the surreal atmospheres and distorted perspectives of paintings by Giorgio De Chirico, we will develop open square concepts similar to the piazzas of Italian cities. Upon entering Hong Kong’s concept store, shoppers will promptly notice the strong Italian imprint on the architecture’s classical matrix: symmetrical structure, row of arches, and one dominant hue offset by two-tone flooring."
Antonio Bianchi, chairman and CEO of Ittierre S.p.A, went on to comment: "The HITGallery stores will enable Ittierre to express the excellence of its products in one unique and impressive way. We chose to work with Fabio Novembre because we appreciate his sense of style, flawless taste and creative vision. This fall we will be opening new stores in Europe as well, beginning with the flagship in Milan which is now in its final stages of realization."
