What has started as a panel discussion about the challenges for women who work in the denim industry last September at Bluezone Munich followed by a ladies' lunch (again at Bluezone) in January, now forms into a true community. "The Women in Denim" network, initiated by Lucie Germser of creative agency Sphynx, will meet in New York City this Friday to bring together the local female denim workforce and pre-celebrate International Women's Day.
The event, supported by Bluezone, Artistic Milliners and Lenzing, serves as a platform for several 'female denim' execs, insiders and veterans; after a short introduction there will be a round table, moderated by Angela Velasquez, managing editor, Sourcing Journal/Rivet, and Sabine Kühnl, editor-in-chief, SPORTSWEAR INTERNATIONAL, to give opportunity to talk about work experiences, share ideas and discuss future projects.
