Italian pret-à-porter brand Max Mara and The Woolmark Company have developed a new Wool Denim line for Max Mara’s fall/winter ’17 collection, employing Australian merino wool.

The new line is made with 100 per cent wool denim fabrics that replicate the traditional denim look – including the blue cloth’s traditional 3/1 weave – but still guarantee the natural merino wool qualities and benefits, including softness, warmth and wrinkle resistance.

The new wool denim fabrics, made with twisted, strong wool yarns dyed with ecological dyes to imitate natural indigo, have also been tested under stringent guidelines to gain Woolmark certification.

Through this collaboration, The Woolmark Company had the opportunity to transfer their knowledge and provide in-depth training and education about the benefits and versatility of merino wool to more than 180 global Max Mara staff members.

To celebrate their collaboration, Max Mara and The Woolmark Company have planned a global road show that will stop in Milan, Moscow, London, Sydney and Beijing.
