Eastman launches Naia Renew
Eastman, the producer of sustainably sourced Naia cellulosic fiber, is launching its new Naia Renew portfolio sourced from 60% wood pulp and 40% recycled waste plastics. The new cellulosic fiber is traceable with certified biodegradability as it uses hard-to-recycle materials that would otherwise be destined for landfills.

The filament features a silky hand, rich luster and fluid drape and is used to create fashionable womenswear garments. The fiber is inherently soft and quick drying, with reduced pilling properties, and can also be used for everyday casualwear.
Naia Renew is produced with a low carbon footprint in a closed-loop process as solvents are recycled back into the system for reuse. The fiber is made from wood pulp sourced from certified forests, and the recycled plastics feedstock is generated via Eastman’s patented carbon renewal technology (CRT). CRT is an integrated, molecular recycling technology that breaks down waste plastics, such as postconsumer carpet fiber and plastic packaging materials, into basic molecular building blocks for the manufacture of new products.
Lycra Anti-Slip hypes denim performance
During Intertextile Shanghai, which took place on September 23-25, The Lycra Company launched its new Lycra Anti-Slip fiber technology. The development offers a denim seam slippage solution for applications in single core spandex fabrics that require durable stretch and good recovery power. This patent-pending fiber helps maintain garment appearance for a long time as it is designed to help prevent seam slippage and improve garment quality and yield. It's a versatile fiber that can be applied for numerous fabric developments and constructions, including open structures, PES/viscose blends and cotton blends.
When used for other Lycra technologies such as Lycra DualFX and Lycra T400 denim fabrics get their properties enhanced guaranteeing that super stretch jeans last longer, keep their fit and shape.
Bluesign bets on Smart-Indigo
