Investing in its expansion across the UK and Ireland, British shoe brand Dr. Martens announced to open seven new stores from July 2017. The first store opened in Reading, England on Friday. Others are to follow throughout the year. The exact opening dates are not fixed yet.
“By opening new stores in key locations across the UK, it allows the brand to continue to demonstrate a comprehensive range of products from our various categories. It also allows us to demonstrate the brand’s connection to music and youth subculture through an exclusive calendar of activations and unique events that anchor our stores in their local communities”, said Emily Hall, UK retail marketing manager, Dr. Martens.
Following this credo, Dr. Martens will invite a local band to play in the Reading store soon and the new location will feature exclusive artwork from Reading artist and illustrator Joe La-Placa.
With the addition of the Reading store Dr. Martens now runs 32 of its own retail locations across London (including Camden, Oxford Street, Covent Garden, Carnaby Street, Spitalfields) and the rest of the UK.
