Last week lifestyle brand Esprit reopened its store in Düsseldorf. The company celebrated the opening with a catered after-work event with about 600 guests featuring celebrities and live acts. The 1,750 sqm flagship sets a new architectural standard with the "Lighthouse" store concept, which can also be seen in Antwerp and Cologne. The design elements feature the California-vibe in which Doug Tompkins founded Esprit in 1968. An authentic nature look characterizes the bungalow-like place to put visitors at ease with wooden walls, floors and furniture paired with lots of flowers and green plants. The interior was realized by an international architecture team in cooperation with Esprit and is part of a new re-design program that will affect all Esprit stores worldwide. The company estimates to invest more than 280 million in the project by 2015.
