Airwair International Ltd, the company behind the Dr. Martens brand, has appointed Leslie Lane as president of the US and Americas, effective January 28, 2016. Lane will account for the UK brand’s American operations based in Portland, Oregon.

Lane joins Dr. Martens from action sports/lifestyle brand Dakine, where he served as CEO since July 2013. From 2003-2011, the businessman also occupied various positions at Nike, Inc. including vice president and managing director of Nike Foundation and vice president and general manager of Nike Running.
“It was important to us that we found someone who combined genuine passion for our unique brand with a deep understanding of the region and markets to be able to maximize the opportunity Dr. Martens has in the US & Americas region,” said Steve Murray, CEO at Airwair International Ltd.
