For two weeks we present one of Bojer's favorites every day.
Today, it's part VIII with Rivet and Hide in London and Manchester.

I'd arranged with co-founder Danny Hodgson to visit their office and workshop in West London on the Saturday. I was particularly excited about getting to try out their Union Special 43200G sewing machine from 1950 on a pair of jeans I'd brought along. Danny's spouse Junior Arraes, who's also the other half of the team, was there to show me the ropes. It was my first (and so far only) attempt at hemming a pair of jeans. I failed catastrophically. Luckily, Junior finished the job like a pro. After that, they took us out for dinner and we told stories about denim.

He'd begun dreaming about giving a home to the brands he was discovering, like 3sixteen, The Flat Head and Pure Blue Japan, which at that time had no representation in the UK. Without any background in fashion or retail, he realized the dream in 2012. Fastforward to earlier this year, and Rivet and Hide successfully opened its second store in Manchester.

Rivet and Hide started out with the slogan 'rare denim.' Today, the list of brands includes some of the most renowned names in the industry and every single brand is a well-considered choice that plays a unique role in defining the store. 'I could not single any one or five out,' Danny writes to me via e-mail. The common characteristics they all share are next-level quality, original fabrics and classic style. 'Our customers trust that we never compromise on quality,' he concludes."
