"Douglas Luhanko has been a denimhead since he was a teenager in the early '00s. His passion was triggered by the characteristics of cotton, the durability of twill fabric and the mystery of indigo, as he puts it. 'I guess a tipping point was when my brother and I went on a road trip and bought a couple of old sewing machines,' he recalls. He soon started making his own jeans. And in 2009, he went to Nevada hunting for vintage denim in abandoned Nevada mines.
