Time to educate: Kingpins Transformers, the seminar format of Kingpins trade show, will host the second edition of 'Transformers: ED’, a student-focused event, in Amsterdam.

The educational conference focusing on fashion students who are still in school and are about to enter the wider fashion industry, will take place on 24 April at De Studio (Het Marineterrein - Building 027A, Kattenburgerstraat 5)–one day after Kingpins trade show.

The focus will be on the social, environmental and economic challenges facing the denim industry and will be hosted by Mohsin Sajid, founder of Denim History, and Mariette Hoitink, of HTNK and House of Denim. A complete list of speakers will be announced soon, with representatives from companies including Lenzing, Tonello, DyStar, Kings of Indigo and more slated to participate in panels and presentations.

“We held our first ED conference in October 2019 at Ravensbourne University in London [...]. More than 300 students from 30 universities and fashion programs across Europe attended and received an in-depth and unvarnished crash course on the state of the denim supply chain. Our goal is to prepare students to enter our industry and hit the ground running with a clear understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the jeans industry. If we want to change the future of the denim industry, we must equip the young professionals entering the industry with the best information and insight,” says Andrew Olah, founder of Kingpins Transformers and Kingpins Show.

The event, sponsored by Saitex, Lenzing and FibreTrace, is open to students, exclusively; tickets can be secured via the Kingpins Transformers website.
