Christopher Bastin, creative director at casualwear brand Gant, is leaving the company. Gant will now start looking for a replacement and expects to conclude this process by the end of the year. According to CEO Patrik Nilsson, the desing leadership change shall not have any immediate effect on the ongoing work.

Bastin was with Gant since 2005, starting as lead designer for men’s shirts. In 2009, he beame head of design for the fashion-oriented sub brand Gant Rugger and played a central role in its relaunch in 2010. Two years later he was appointed Gant’s creative director.
"I’ve had a tremendous time at Gant. I’m proud of what I brought to the company and where we have taken our creative direction. I feel that my job at Gant is done – it is now time for me to pursue other dreams“, Christopher Bastin said in a corporate release.

At the recent edition of New York Fashion Week, Gant showcased the 'House of Gant', now containing the three sub-labels Gant Originals (sportswear), Gant Rugger (fashion forward) and the new Gant Diamond G, aiming at the traveling urban professional. According to own statements, Gant aims to be the leading lifestyle brand in the world by 2020.
