In 2014, Coin continues to collaborate with Oxfam through “The Fashion Circle di Oxfam Italia”, the Italian division of the international non-profit organization that defends women's rights and supports the improvement of poverty conditions worldwide (also check our previous coverage from May 2013 / September 2013).
From 8th March, 2014, the Italian department store will present a new capsule limited edition collection of sweatshirts designed by the three designers: Alessia Giacobino (designer of the Jo No Fui brand), Stella Jean and Cristina Tardito (creative mind of the Kristina Ti brand).
The three sweatshirt models - all 100% made in Italy - will be available countrywide at all 100 Coin department stores, selling at 45€ per shirt. The items, enriched with silver prints, embroideries and lucid effect metal prints, aim to support women all over the world, suffering from poverty and poor living conditions. According to statistics, over two-third of the world’s 1.3 billion poor people are women and girls, living in rural areas. Moreover, 70% of the non-educated kids are girls.
Past collaborations between Coin with Oxfam proofed to be successful, since they raised 213,000€. The raised funds were used to support 120 Tamil women in Sri Lanka and aided 70 Bedouin women in Palestine. Aim of these campaigns is to help these women support their families and build up own enterprises, helping them to improve their living conditions.
