On 5 March, Carhartt WIP has reopened its Milanese store in Corso di Porta Ticinese 105 and renamed it as Carhartt WIP Store TCNS, inspired by the trend of the first US streetwear brands to shorten names.
The 100-sq.meter location is based in the streetwear heart of Milan. The design by Studio Andrea Caputo evokes the impression of barrier-free structures between inner and outer spaces, thanks to a huge glass window pane indicating a zinc door. Decors are made with sophisticated materials such as Chile wood pine floors and marble for the cash desk area. Walls are designed in order to create a fluid and unique effect between inner and outer spaces. Interiors are completed by cool neon lights, exclusively designed by artist Pietro Sanguineti, and seats by Piet Hein Eek. The individual store walls show pics by Luca Gabino, separating all the different sections of the store.
The new Carhartt WIP Store is selling men and women’s apparel and accessories. For its inaugurating party it offered a limited edition t-shirt carrying a psychedelic graphic designed by Mental Aesthetic recalling the late 80’s of Italian design.
After 25 years, WIP owns the worldwide license for selling Carhartt WIP products all characterized by Carhartt’s fundamental product values - quality, durability and comfort. Today Carhartt WIP is sold in over 60 countries worldwide and operates through 2,500 dealers. Carhartt Workwear remains a separate entity based in the US.
