Cyclon by On
At first glance, the Cyclon by On wants to score with sophisticated technology for runners: the sneaker is made of recyclable and partially bio-based polyamide from castor beans and comes in a simple, undyed design and mono material composition. But when it drops in fall 2021 the Cyclon cannot be regularly purchased in stores. Instead, for €29,95 per month customers can get a subscription. The shoe is worn until it is no longer usable. Instead of throwing it away afterwards, it is exchanged and completely recycled.

Eco Active Gloves by Bleed x Zanier
Gloves specialist Zanier and sportswear label Bleed used cork instead of leather for its collab: the Eco Active Gloves claim to be the first completely recyclable all-round gloves from sustainable production. The palms are reinforced with cork; a recycled laminate from Sympatex serves as the shell and the lining comes from Polartec. The lightweight glove is said to be biodegradable and vegan, windproof, water-repellent and easy to recycle.

Odin Infinity Insulated Jacket by Helly Hansen
"Sustainable down to the last meter of sewing yarn. Helly Hansen redefined the build-up and use of sustainable materials with this new fabric made from dope dye polypropylene (LIFA) that cuts the CO2 emission to almost half compared to PES. A perfect mixture of hydrophilic and hydrophobic materials processed into a jacket to avoid the use of chemicals. Thanks to the chemical properties of the fabric, it’s totally water repellent without DWR treatment. Even the dope dyeing process is well considered to act sustainable and safe our planet," says the Ispo Award jury about the sustainable approach behind Helly Hansen’s jacket.

ZoneKnit Hoodie by Icebreaker
The hoodie uses the ZoneKnit knitting technology that shall allow for different structures in the fabric and offers - depending on the body part - more ventilation or more warmth. A merino yarn filling at the front provides additional insulation. The material is 100 percent organic merino. The production, according to Icebreaker, is completely waste-free. On a side note: Icebreaker wants to become completely plastic-free in 2023.
