As part of Copenhagen Fashion Week, fashion e-tailer Zalando has given its first Sustainability Award to House of Dagmar. The Swedish fashion brand was founded in 2005 by three sisters, Karin Söderlind, Kristina Tjäder and Sofia Wallenstam who decided to pick up the legacy after their late grandmother; Dagmar.
From the beginning the team behind claimed that the label is founded on three sustainability pillars: ‘high quality in its fabrics, high quality in its production processes and high quality in its designs’. Since then House of Dagmar has been following that path; according to the company 90% of the collection today are made in a sustainable way, using for example organic cotton and aiming to close the production loop towards a circular concept. Accordingly, the award jury explained that it “was impressed by House of Dagmar's strong sustainable ambition which is implemented through many aspects of the brand's supply chain”.

"We are so excited to receive recognition for our efforts and be given the spotlight on the matters of sustainability–this is what we have been doing for more than 15 years now. As fashion and sustainability is not a game or a sport where only one brand can win, we feel we want to share this recognition with so many of our very ambitious industry colleagues," says Sofia Wallenstam, brand director at House of Dagmar.
