Best Showroom, an association of several Milanese and Italian fashion showrooms created within Confcommercio Milano, recently signed a strategic agreement with Greenland Group, a giant Chinese group ranked as the 171st biggest company in the world according to a Forbes classification.

As a result of this deal, in 2021 the group will give life to the G Hub space in Shanghai opening a B2B showroom to distribute Italian designers, new talents and collections by small and medium sized high-end specialized manufacturers in the whole Chinese territory.

G Hub also plans to open a concept store selling Italian products of excellence such as fashion, design and food in the frame of the Bund, along with the opening of shop-in-shops and monobrand stores. The latter will be based inside a 30,000-sq.meter mall as part of a 1.2 million-sq.-meter development area hosting residential and commercial spaces and hotels.

Leading the project is Giulio Di Sabato, already heading Best Showroom, Assomoda and his own fashion showroom, Sari Spazio, in Milan, he will collaborate with Greenland as a promoter of the group for European and Italian fashion brands.

He launched the Best Showroom project a few years ago but it became real in 2020 as a first group of about 20 Milan showrooms that adhered to it thanks to the active participation of the MilanoLovesItaly system initiative.
“China today represents the only true market for Made in Italy, as it is a receptive economy ready to go beyond the concept of designer brand and well-known label to get in touch with new brands and talents as long as they offer Italian beautiful and well-done products. For this we will open a maxi G Hub project in Shanghai, that will offer a great opportunity of growth for the best and most creative brands," says Di Sabato.
