With its new store concept The Scandinavian Studio, Marc O'Polo wants to underline its position as a "sustainable, leading modern casual lifestyle brand".
The first store has just opened in Munich's Pasing Arcaden on 180 sqm. The design was created by London-based brand & retail consultancy Fitch. The retail concept was implemented by Marc O'Polo's long-standing store construction partner Knoblauch.
With The Scandinavian Studio, the Stephanskirchen-based fashion retailer wants to convey values such as 'simplicity, naturalness, innovation, timelessness and scandinavian design', but also emphasize its claim to be a 'premium casual brand'. Scandinavian design with reduced shapes and colors serve as a stage for the products.
Off-white dominates the color scheme, with the characteristic Marc O'Polo gray providing recognition in the changing area and creating accents with the integrated resupply cubes under the tables and in the carpets. Black elements such as racks, monitor frames, lights, chairs and the hospitality table in black emphasize the modernity.
Naturalness and warmth are conveyed via light, high-quality woods: tables and the back of the heropanels are made of chestnut. Parquet, pedestals and merchandise supports are made of whitewashed oak. The display window back wall, which simultaneously presents selected products as a highlight inside the store, is made of recycled material with a limestone look in off-white. In the center are long, linear tables for displaying merchandise.
Campaigns, capsules, etc. are displayed on the LED front of the Heropanels, which can be individually controlled from the headquarters. On the back, the Heropanels function as merchandise carriers.
On the walls, racks run along the entire store at a new hanging height of 1.8m, which should add a more premium feel to the room concept. Mirrors, variable merchandise supports and shelves can be configured individually. The collection is consistently presented in 3-way hanging, as well as on the tables and trays.
In addition to the mirrors with rounded corners, the LED lights in an organic, rounded shape break up the straight lines, complemented by LED spots and floodlights. The Coffee Concept invites visitors to linger in the center of the store, which is reminiscent of a showroom. Here, the goods are packed and the purchase is paid for.
Prior to the store opening in the Pasing Arcaden, the first sample area was already opened at Breuninger in Stuttgart at the end of last year. According to Marc O'Polo further stores are to follow.
