Jacob Cohën Company has signed a partnership agreement with sportswear and fashion company Sinv to collaborate for the relaunch of premium jeans brand Jacob Cohën starting from fall/winter 2021-22 (also read here). The problem is: Cohën's previous partner, Giada SpA, said that it was not informed about the matter.
Giada has recently explained that since 2004 it fully owns the rights as exclusive worldwide licensee for the Jacob Cohën brand. Today it is entirely involved in the projects for the development of the brand through its know-how and the intellectual property rights that contributed to its success of which it claims the entitlement.
The right of Jacob Cohën Company SpA to stop the contract relationship still running with Giada SpA is at present in a study phase by the legal authorities.
Catania continued: “I don’t want to consider the eventual speculations that might have led Jacob Cohën Company in taking such an initiative upon which many insiders are asking themselves–not without worries–and that like us have contributed the extraordinary growth path of the brand. In order to support them too we wait faithfully for the results of the tribunal judgment we have started asking for.”
When asked by SPORTSWEAR INTERNATIONAL, Jacob Cohën says that it does not wish to comment on the matter.
