Jacob Cohën Company, owner of the premium jeans brand Jacob Cohën, and Sinv, an expert for upper sportswear and fashion company, have signed a partnership agreement meant to collaborate for the relaunch of the brand starting from fall/winter 2021-22.
The agreement establishes JC Industry, a new company based in Schio and Piove di Sacco (all in the Veneto region, Italy) that will manage the production and distribution of the Jacob Cohën brand. The newborn company will guarantee the brand’s future development according to some clear criteria such as 100% Made in Italy, high research in fabric selection, maniacal care for details, tailor-made production and exclusive style elements set by the brand’s founder Nicola Bardelle.
Sinv was founded in 1975. It produces under licensing agreement the apparel collections of Dirk Bikkembergs and Love Moschino and in the past it collaborated for the production and distribution of brands such as Valentino, Chloé, Cavalli and Yamamoto. Moreover, through its head company Sinv Holding, it owns 30% of the Moschino brand.
Sinv will support JC Industry with its experience in managing luxury brands both in terms of industrial and distribution expertise.
Milan’s Jacob Cohën Company headquarters inaugurated in June 2019 will continue to host the brand’s design, sales management, marketing and communication offices.
We asked Luca Roda, CEO, Jacob Cohën Company SpA, and Francesco Dalla Rovere, president of Sinv, a few questions about the new agreement.

Luca Roda: With Sinv and Francesco Dalla Rovere, there has always been a reciprocal esteem relationship since Nicola Bardelle founded the brand. The common visions of industrial development and rootedness in the territory make Sinv our ideal partner. Both companies will be able to work together for strengthening and help growing the brand thanks to each of our own know-how.

Francesco Dalla Rovere: It’s part of Sinv’s DNA and history DNA offering its competences to designers and most prestigious fashion brands. Jacob Cohën, thanks to last year’s constant growth is part of this élite, and when we had the possibility to start this collaboration we took it at once.
Moreover, there is also an affective component: Nicola Bardelle, founder of the brand, and I attended the same high school, and through the years more than once planned to collaborate on some common project. Now, eight years after he departed, being able to finally collaborate to contribute his brand’s success truly gives me great pride.
Are you planning any change in terms of style, image and positioning of the brand?
LR: Style will continue and evolve following the path that its founder Nicola Bardelle had set for it. We expect to strengthen the women’s, juniors’ and footwear lines. Moreover, we will develop all of the brand’s digital assets. Speaking about its positioning we aim to enter markets that were never explored before or only briefly entered as, for instance, some Far East countries.
Did Sinv acquire any quota of Jacob Cohën?
LR-FDR: At present we cannot release this piece of information.
