US footwear label Allbirds starts with an apparel line. The debut collection with simple basics features T-shirts, jumpers, cardigans and puffer jackets for men and women, which according to Allbirds are made of renewable, natural materials such as merino wool and eucalyptus fibers.
For its signature T-shirt, Allbirds uses TrinoXOTM, a natural fiber obtained from crab shells, which is already used for Allbirds socks and underwear line. Sweaters are made of ZQ-certified New Zealand Merino wool–just like Allbirds sneakers. The puffer jacket, made of a Merino and Tencel blend, is coated with a fluorine-free Durable Water Repellent (DWR). Instead of traditional or synthetic down, the Allbirds wool puffer is filled with Tencel and recycled polyester.
Each item of the apparel line also features the respective carbon footprint.
