Last night, SPORTSWEAR INTERNATIONAL’s sister publication TextilWirtschaft once again awarded outstanding stakeholders of the international fashion industry with its annual “Forumsprize” in a festive event at the Print Media Academy in Heidelberg.
In front of almost 500 invited guests, Adidas Originals, Outfittery and Pitti Uomo were recognized for their performance.
The jury (made up of 14 industry insiders) granted Adidas Originals their prize for “innovative products, creative communication as well as tightly sorted distribution”. The brand has hit the nerve of a whole generation with sneaker drops such as the Superstar, Stan Smith, NMD and via their work with rapper Kanye West and thus caught up with long-time predominant competitors.
Longstanding menswear trade show Pitti Uomo received their award for being a worldwide unique platform for this part of the industry and not only a trade show, but a “cultural phenomenon”. The organizers around Raffaello Napoleone have managed to make the bi-annual show into a real brand and an engine for an ever-changing market thanks to many novelties and ideas.
Finally, the Berlin-based online company Outfittery has convinced the jury with their curated shopping service for men that was started long before similar concepts were introduced to the German market back in 2012.
Today, the TextilWirtschaft Forum continues with a day of panel discussions under the headline “Consumption Cultures” with speakers including Daniel Greiner, CEO Tommy Hilfiger, British retail expert Cate Trotter, and Vittorio Radice, vice chairman of the La Rinascente Group.
