Will there be denim computers soon? Chip Bergh, president and CEO of denim icon brand Levi Strauss & Co. (Levi’s), was named chairman of the board of HP, Inc. on July 26. He replaces Meg Whitman who has left the board.
Bergh has served on the HP board since the separation of the printing and personal systems company in 2015, since March 2017 as lead independent director. At Levi’s he has held the position of president and CEO since September 2011.
Before joining Levi’s Bergh previously worked at Procter & Gamble for 28 years in various executive roles, the last one being group president of global male grooming. He has also served on the board of directors of VF Corporation and the Economic Development Board of Singapore.
