Austrian crystal manufacturer Swarovski has appointed Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert as its first ever company-wide creative director. The Italian will oversee the entire creative management of the company and redesign the product portfolio in all departments. The first products she has created will be presented in the spring/summer 2021 collection.
“For decades, Swarovski has been illuminating the world of fashion, design, entertainment, in general the whole creative industry. I am thrilled to be leading the creative vision of a cultural powerhouse like Swarovski in the future”, states Battaglia Engelbert.
Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert previously worked for over 20 years as creative director, international editor and fashion consultant.
At Swarovski, the signs are pointing to change. Due to the restructuring and the resulting streamlining of the company, Markus Langes-Swarovski resigned from the executive board in March. Langes-Swarovski has managed the company since 2002 in the fifth generation. Mathias Margreiter and Nadja Swarovski continue to be part of the executive board.
Robert Buchbauer has taken over the role of CEO in addition to his previous duties as chairman of the board and intends to realign the company along a common vision, growth strategy and organization.
