British designer Alexander McQueen and Puma have extended their collaboration to include sport-fashion apparel and accessories for men and women this fall.

The concept of power is the DNA of the line. Collections each season will reference specific seasonal themes related to sport; this fall, the theme is boxing and the visual icon of the season is the Griffin, said to be an expression of power and inner strength and used throughout the collection as a graphic application.

Innovative details including ergonomic cuts, combat bandages, silhouettes and overlays are also visual features of the debut range, which was launched during Milan Men’s Fashion Week and in conjunction with the premiere of “Ghost,” a short movie directed by acclaimed director Saam Faramond and McQueen. The movie features a breathtaking dual between two athletic models, with slow-to-fast motion effects and reverberating sequences, interpreting the sport-fashion vision of Alexander McQueen Puma.

A marketing campaign, photographed by famed fashion photographer Nick Knight, is expected to drop in July 2009.
