We talked to Daniel Kraus who joined Bernd Hummel GmbH in May 2018. In the newly created position of vice president of sales & marketing he is responsible for the Kangaroos and flip*flop sales divisions as well as the management of customer service and marketing. The 42-year-old began his career in 2001 in controlling at Hugo Boss AG in Metzingen. Most recently, he was managing director of Otto Kern GmbH at Ahlers AG in Herford from March 2015. Here, he presents his private side.
What do you want to change at your new position?
It’s too early to say–ask me again in about three months.
Where do you prefer to buy–apart from the brand?
In my hometown Reutlingen and especially when I’m on holidays.
How would you describe your clothing style?
Fashionable and always with a twist–never classic.
Quite spontaneously: What is the favorite item of clothing that you own?
A double breasted checked jacket from The Gigi.
What was your first pair of jeans?
Please ask my mother.
What was your worst fashion sin ever?
A sleeveless T-shirt with holes and a Christian print from Jean Paul Gaultier.
What part of your wardrobe did you last separate from?
I do not separate my personal favorites–never.
Which part or product is at the top of your wish list?
A Chanel blazer for my wife.
Who is your favorite designer?
The young German shirt designer brand Edward Copper.
What don't you like about the fashion industry?
Sometimes the superficiality; but I like a lot more compared to what I don’t like.
