Nimo, who released his debut album "Kiki" in June 2017, belongs to the young generation of German rappers who make a difference to German rap’s relevance in the mainstream. He is also known for his signature tracksuit-loaded style. In context of our GERMAN ISSUE, we talked to him about his personal style.
Which brands do you prefer to wear at the moment?
Adidas Originals, Hugo Boss and Diesel.
Which streetwear trends do you think are inspired by you and your colleagues?
Simply streetstyle, bucket hats, tracksuits, shoulder bags. The music is influenced by the streets as well as musicians set fashion trends for the streets.
Headwear is part of your signature style. How important is having a personal style for you?
Very important! But there are also days I don’t attach great importance to it. On those days I would wear garments that don’t fit together but that doesn’t bother me. But when I purposely want to dress up, I am very eager of what I’m wearing. Also of having a personal style.
Do you have any specific style role models?
I’m especially inspired by the ’80s; Biggie, Léon: The Professional, Samuel L. Jackson. But mostly Biggie.
