Italian fashion brand Pinko is focused on Reimagine, a new project that aims to reduce waste, make a more conscious use of resources and be transparent in the eyes of consumers.
Reimagine is a new collection made by recycling raw materials of old garments from the company’s archives into new pieces. Every step of the production of this line can be traced, documented and certified through a blockchain technology by Temera, an Italian technology specialist offering Internet of Things solutions for the fashion, luxury and retail industry.
Blockchain technology is ised to create a platform where information such as origin of the material that was used, hours for producing and single productive steps of the items are transcribed and cannot be changed. The veracity of this information can be controlled by the consumer thanks to "Verified by Virgo," a service that allows to access to the “blocks” of information notarized within the platform through a simple cell phone scan.
"For me, it has always been very important to create new collections that are consistent with my vision and aesthetics, but I am also aware of our responsibility within the fashion industry. For this reason, I am proud to have promoted this pioneering project that aims to a responsible approach and triggers a transparent dialogue between the brand and an increasingly aware consumer," said Caterina Negra, creative director of Pinko.
