London-based designer Christopher Ræburn – who heads his own brand Raeburn and serves as Timberland’s Global Creative Director – has been tasked with breathing new life into Left Hand and ST95. Both brands were founded in the mid nineties by Massimo Osti, the man behind Stone Island and C.P. Company. The news of Raeburn’s appointment broke the day it was announced that Italian luxury brand Moncler is to acquire Stone Island.
UK-based Left Hand Studios Limited – the new owner of the soon-to-be-revived brands – is set to re-launch both for FW21. Raeburn will be in charge of design and development, building on Left Hand’s original focus on innovative materials in a contemporary way. The range will encompass everything from jackets and liners to jersey pieces. As for his work with ST95, its sporty, young appeal will be adhered to but with a new focus on responsible design, for which Raeburn is celebrated – the designer was named honoree at the Fashion Awards 2020 last week in recognition of his sustainable practices and inspiring change in this arena.
